Itinerary - The Bonifica path
This path starts in Chiusi, from the Beccati Questo Tower and arrives until the Chiusa dei Monaci. Along the way, with lots of bridges, houses, canals, are many paths and bike paths and many chianina meat farms. The most important places along the path are the Chiusi lake, the Callone di Valiano, the Zores brisge in Monte San Savino and the Chiusa dei Monaci right after Arezzo.

Thhe main town of this area is Arezzo, whose province arrives until south Florence. This territory has many boroughs to visit, such as Bibbiena, Castel Focognano (where the rural lifestyle center is), Mount Verna with its spectacular Santuario della Verna (1129 mts on the sea level). Another ancient sanctuary is the Santa Maria del Sasso one, near the town of Poppi. In the south part of the Casentino, right next to the Umbria border, you find the beautiful town of Cortona.
Other towns near Arezzo are Anghiari, Loro Ciuffena e Castelfranco di sopra. |
