Gubbio is the typical Umbrian medieval town. Located in the north-east area of Umbria, the town is in the middle of a landscape rich of forests and mountains. Among this wild nature, is the Palazzo dei Consoli, which shines with its white walls. The small town is also famous for its Candel Race (Corsa edi Ceri), symbol of the city itself. |

Monte Cucco Natural Itinerary
Near Gubbio there is a great park, called Monte Cucco (1552 mt high), which gives the chance to walk through natural itineraries in a very unique landscape with forests, caves (more than 30km inside the park). Most caves can be visited, especially by potholing lovers. Their depth gets until 930 mts underground. Near the Park there are equipped area for the free flight, deltaplane, mountain byke itineraries and, durign the winter, ski paths.

Gubbio, because of its montain location, has several strong flavours and dishes. Among its best specialities we can find truffle risotto, pork liver sausages, cappelletti pasta soup and the famous friccò alla eugubina second course, which is based on chicken meat cooked in a pan with some special aromas and some tomatoes. |
