Facing the Tyrrenum sea, Livorno is a dynamic town located in the north west part of Tuscany. In its territory there are several interesting towns and boroughs, such as Rosignano, Piombino (important dock to the Elba Island), Cecina (with the wonderful San Vincentino and Cinquantina villas). In the Livorno province are the islands of Gargaia, Pianosa, Gorgona and Capraia, all of them part of the Tuscan Islands National Park. |

island, with its beautiful underwater caves and around the Capraia, with its wild paths and the wonderful "Stagnone".
 Historical itinerary, Populonia archaeologial area
Near the Baratti Gulf, right in the middle of the northern Etruria land, there is a large archaeologial area named Populonia, near which is the S.Cerbone area. Populonia was one of the most powerful Etruscan cities, the only one among the top 12 cities which was on the sea. This area is worth a visit.
