Pisa is one of the oldest cities of Tuscany and it is one of the symbols of this region, because of the famous "Piazza dei Miracoli" where the unique Leaning Tower is. Pisa is also the home town of Galileo Galilei. It is told that right from the Tower the scientist used to do his experiments about gravity. In the Pisa province 2 other important towns should be visited: San Miniato e Volterra. |

Migliarino Park Natural Itinerary

Insituted in 1979, the Park spreads among Migliarino, San Rossore, Coltano and Tombolo, near the Versilia riviera and it is 23.114 ha large. Few kms from the city, it is the largest green area, with its many spots and great views. Inside it, in the Prato degli Escoli area, is an important horse riding center. In the restored Casale della Sterpaia has been built a Visitors Center.
In Massaciuccoli, near there, are some Roman Villa and spa ruins, called "Buche di Nerone". These ruins are a valid confirmation about the noble Romans interest for this territory. |
